Pioneer Bible Translators

Missionaries in Southeast Asia

On Wednesday, December 6th, around 11pm eastern time, the final verse was checked in the book of Luke for the Baker language! Hearts were touched during the process of translating the book of Luke. The final verse of Luke, Luke 24:53, back translated from the Baker version reads, “They always praised God and almost never left the courtyard of God’s House. Amen.” Let us join the Coopers in continually praising God for this incredible milestone!

The Coopers will be going as a family on their next trip to Southeast Asia in February of 2024 for four to six weeks. Please join the Coopers in prayer for the preparations, planning, and goals to be set for this trip.

Praises, Prayers, and Updates:

Praise the Lord the Baker people now have the book of Luke in their language.

Praise God for the work the Dumas team has been able to complete in the book of Galatians.

Praise God for His direction and peace regarding the Cooper’s trip to Southeast Asia in February.

Pray for the planning, preparations, goals, and funding for the Coopers’ trip to SEA in February.

Pray for the Lord’s leading and protection over showing the Jesus film among the Baker people.

Pray for discernment in printing and distributing the book of Luke among the Baker people.

Praise for a new monthly financial partner and a recent special gift.

Pray for God to lead the right number of people to join in prayer and financial partnership so that budget needs can be met and Him mission can be carried forth.

Pray for Camden, Nolan, and the family as the Coopers prepare for the transition of the boys beginning school at Trinity Christian School.

Please pray that the Coopers would be approved for a scholarship to pay for Camden and Nolan’s schooling.

Pray that God would lead people from among the Baker and Dumas to engage fully with His Word and be deeply impacted by it and experience transformation in Christ alone.

Pioneer Bible Translators bridges the gap between the church and the Bibleless peoples around the world. Our team is composed of Bible translators, literacy evangelists, church planters and a variety of support personnel working to see transformed lives through God’s Word in every language. We are serving 43 million people in 92 language projects in 18 countries.

Shaun is the branch director for Southeast Asia. Shaun helps to lead and guide the team and support each family’s work. While he will have administrative duties both internally among the SEA team and externally to the Pioneer Bible Translators organization as a whole, Shaun and Mary Ann will continue to work very closely with their national partners in literacy, translation and community development.

Shaun and Mary Ann were able to visit and connect with their teammates and national partners in SE Asia. They are continuing to support those teams remotely from the U.S.
